Organic and paid searches are the core of any search engine marketing strategy. When you are wanting to rank high in the search engines you need to decide whether you are going to do it organically which is the natural technique or the paid technique. The budget factor will, of course, place a key role here.

Paid searches

Paid searches are simply a marketing strategy that a company has paid for. This will be an advertisement that will come up on Google when you search for a keyword. In other words, the company has acquired a Pay per click ad, thus places the advertisement at the top of the search engine rankings for the keyword. Furthermore, this places the advert above the organic search results.
Going into more detail about the Pay per click ad, when the click on the link (which will direct you to the company website) is made then there will be a cost paid to Google. This process happens because the company has essentially bought the SEO from Google to place their website at the top of the search engine for specific keywords.

Organic searches

Organic searches are a marketing strategy that you can apply methods such as tracking keywords, editing meta descriptions and search engine optimisation (SEO) titles of each web page from the website. Organic is free marketing which basically means the natural way of rising to the first page on google through various methods that I have already mentioned and social media. Through the natural methods you will bring up more reliable content from a company and more reliable company’s in general rather than the automated e-commerce web pages that you get find frequently in the paid searches.

In basic terms, the differences between organic and paid search are that organically is free, the paid search requires payment, organic searches are located on the screen of all devices below the paid searches.
